Steam Sales, reviews and Oddworld

Back in London from my Christmas break in Portsmouth. I’m starting the mammoth task of downloading the sheer amount of Steam content that was purchased/gifted to me for the holiday season. Check out the list, it’s insane!

I’m quite shocked how Steam have handled their holiday sales. Not only have there been some fantastic titles to check out but the packages have been mindblowing. The ID Software pack was probably the best, containing over 20 classic titles, for just £13. Some great classics I’ll be playing through over the year. Glad this has gotten me back into PC gaming!

There was one particular game that shocked me. It was Oddworld: Abe’s Odyssey. Now, it wasn’t because I had never played it before. Hell no, I loved this game on the Playstation, back in the day. I was just shocked because I honestly didn’t think I’d ever pick it up and get addicted to it again. I spent just under 5 hours, of my 2 days away, on guiding Abe and the Mudokons back to safety. Oh and saying “Hi” and “Follow me” over and over and over.

I don’t know what it is about Abe’s Odyssey. The game is simple enough. It has plenty of frustrating checkpoints (seriously what was up with that?). I just love it so much! If you have not picked it up yet then I demand you do. It’s one of the greats!

My holiday was short, I’ll admit to that. I have so much to do and plan. I’ve got a bunch of reviews/previews to finish off. Alien Breed Evolution, Magna Carta 2 and a Bayonetta preview. I have 2 essays and 2 portfolios to begin for University plus a new years party to organise. All on top of looking for a job! Eeep!

One thing I have decided to finally do and stick to is mydailyphoto. I’ve wanted to do it for such a long time but never had the time, energy or patience to stick with it. I’m going to do my best this year to keep up with it! Feel free to add me if you plan on doing the same.

I better get back to relaxing on my last rest day. A movie is in order! The girl who leapt through time is being popped into my dvd player as I type this. Multi-task ftw!
