Headed into central London again today for a fun gathering of Capcom community goodness. Celebrating an extremely early Christmas, Capcom had a small event where we got to play some games such as Dark Void (360) and Tatsunoko Vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars (Wii). There was also a free bar and lots of goodies to be obtained just to sweeten the deal.
Walking in we were treated to a rather sweet swag bag. In this was 3 shirts and some toys. The shirts were for Dark Void, Monster Hunter and the last for those who turned up to this years Xmas party. A Dark Void and Bionic Commando figurines were also in the bag alongside a Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles face mask which will protect me from the eventual zombie outbreak (it’s going to happen).I won some Monster Hunter rice cakes from the raffle. Other prizes included a Lost Planet 2 plushie Salamander (damn you Lisa), a Dark Void light up statue, a Street Fighter 4 framed Seth cell, Monster Hunter Ramen (which I had for dinner but it was too spicy for me) and I think I saw a Monster Hunter bag too.
There was a tournament for people to play Tatsunoko Vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars to win a signed TvC:UA-S hoodie. I sadly lost my first round, but to be fair I am pretty useless at Street Fighter in general and the guy I played against pulled out a bunch of supers, (shakes fist) haha.
During this whole event we were treated to parts of a video that Capcom Japan had made for the European fans. We saw producers talk about the games they were working on, their hobbies and random quirky moments. It was pretty funny and everyone particularly enjoyed the random interview with Blanka, who was being voiced by Super Street Fighter 4 producer and was just a Blanka figurine being bopped about in front of the camera. Just imagine in a high pitched voice “Konnichiwa! Blanka Desu~” [Hello! I'm Blanka] – It was very adorable. I really enjoyed the interview with the massage table, and the drink around too. Capcom Japan are crazy bunch and certainly entertaining. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.
Before we all headed off, we got some group photos and all sang a zombie brain version of Jingle Bells for the Japanese team to enjoy. Fantastic times indeed.
After the party I went off with the UK Destructoid.com members to enjoy some fairground rides and PC gaming at HMV Gamerbase in Quake 3 and Counterstrike Source.
Was a great day all in all~

Sounds like you had a pretty sweet haul! I wish I could attend events like this, but nothing happens here in Kentucky in the US for me. I have to travel so far to get to anything, but at least there’s E3 and PAX East next year!

…*lightbulb goes off* You’ve given me an idea for my Aion Legion. : D
Sounds rubbish.
Wow, sounds like fun. Saw Halfie’s pictures… so jealous.
And shame that Bionic Commando figurine isn’t from the original game. If it was I’d be asking what it would take for you to part with it. ;)
